The campaign for the new set of senators is just around the corner. 12 will stay on until 2010. They are:

2. Estrada, Jinggoy
3. Gordon, Dick
4. Lapid, Lito
5. Lim, Alfredo
6. Madrigal, Jamby
7. Revilla, Bong
8. Roxas, Mar
9. Santiago, Miriam
10.Enrile, Juan Ponce
11.Pimentel, Nene
12.Biazon, Rodolfo

4 are retiring or are barred to seek another term. They are:

1. Drilon, Frank
2. Flavier, Juan
3. Magsaysay, Jun
4. Osmena, Sergio

7 are up for re-election. They are:

1. Angara, Ed
2. Villar, Manny
3. Pangilinan, Kiko
4. Arroyo, Joker (who may opt retirement)
5. Estrada, Loi (who may opt retirement)
6. Lacson, Ping
7. Recto, Ralph

So, 12 seats are up for grabs this coming 14 May. (the 'extra' one is Noli De Castro's seat. Remember we elected him Vice-President last '04?)

With the way things are going, it's possible that we will have a Kamaganak, Inc. in the Senate.
Nene Pimentel will have his son, Kokoy, run.
Alan Peter will try to be with ate Pia.
and Jinggoy may be joined by his half-brother JV.
Oh, brother.
So, of the 24 senators we will have this coming June,
There could be
two Pimentels,
two Cayetanos,
two Estradas,
an actor named Lapid,
another actor named Bong Revilla,
another actor named Edu Manzano,
and another actor named Richard Gomez.

And this Senate is supposed to check and balance the House of Representatives?
