Zoom IN Photos

Link

We just wrapped up the Zoom IN Photo Contest yesterday by opening the photo exhibit and awarding the winners.

The exhibit was put up in the Provincial Capitol Lobby, with over 100 photos. There were more, but not enough room to display them.

In the evening, we awarded the finalists and winners. Here they are:
1st place went to Ms Marianne Pasion for her photo of the Tobacco Monument and the Laoag Bell Tower.
2nd place went to Mrs Emilen Sales for her photo of the underwater cave in Pasaleng Bay.
3rd place went to Mr Carlito Villamarin for his amusing picture of a woman looking at the Dos Hermanos islands near Mairaira Cove.
Governor's Choice went to Ms Madelyn Gaspar for her beautiful shot of a sunset in Currimao.
San Nicolas Mayor's Choice went to Mr Michael Macugay for his shot of a local potter.
Paoay Mayor's Choice went to Mr Florencio Cayetano for his photo of the Paoay Church.
Sarrat Mayor's Choice went to Mr Edmund Alonzo for his photo of the Marcos Museum.

I think it was a success. My office received over 200 photos. Over 50 local photographers participated in the contest. Not bad for a first attempt.

One lesson I learned is that if you organize a photo contest there should be categories. I didn't have the time and money to have categories, but dapat meron. Kasi ang daming magagandang entries. It was too bad we had to cut a lot of good shots, and ended up with a hodgepodge of photos. Dapat talaga my category for scenery, people and activity. Tapos dapat may professional at amateur. Di bale, with more preparation, next year!

Congratulations to the winners!
